Family photography in the city
Whether you live in Barcelona or are just visiting, a photo walk is a fantastic idea.
Who said taking pictures had to be static and boring? An outdoor session on the bustling streets of the city lets you explore, run, climb, and admire the architecture, becoming an active part of the vibrant landscape.
Outdoor Photography in Barcelona
If the idea of stepping into a studio to capture your family doesn’t excite you (maybe because your little ones are a bundle of energy, or perhaps you don’t have kids yet), but the thought of exploring new corners of the city does, this is the perfect plan for you. Even if you don’t live in Barcelona and are just visiting, capturing your time in the city through photos is a great idea. I’ll make it easy for you: we choose a spot you like and, while we stroll around, I’ll snap some photos so you can say, yes, you were here, too.
No need to know how to pose because you don’t have to pose at all. Just go with the flow—climb some stairs, jump off a ledge, or simply stand in front of a doorway. We’ll create the rest on the fly, depending on your mood of the day. A photo session in the city is a fantastic opportunity to realize that not only natural settings can create picture-perfect moments—the city streets have their own charm too. If you already have a favorite spot in mind, whisper it to me. Otherwise, I’ll suggest various possible locations; in fact, my studio is right next to the Sagrada Familia! How does that sound?
You can’t stop time. But you can treat yourself to photos while strolling.
Photos in the city: half an hour
If you just want a quick memory or it’s just you and your partner, half an hour might be enough. We’ll walk a few streets, stop at three or four different spots… quick and easy. Perfect for those who are “allergic to photos.”
Photos in the city: one hour
For those who want to make the most of it, a one-hour session gives you more mileage (as much as your legs can handle) and, consequently, more photos. This is the best option if you have a large family, are bringing the grandparents, or if you want a bit more variety in your final photos.
Are You Up for an Outdoor Photo Session?
If the “look at the camera and smile” routine isn’t your thing, and you’re not keen on wearing a flowy dress while walking through a flower field at sunset, then a photo session strolling through the streets of Barcelona might be your way of showing the world that there’s another way to take photos.
To get natural, relaxed portraits, very little is needed. My paparazzi spirit will take care of the rest while you walk at your leisure.
Before your Session
The most important thing is to choose a location that resonates with you: from the narrow streets of Ciutat Vella to a hidden corner in Montjuïc, passing through the modern architecture of 22@, Torre Agbar, or Gran Clariana. If you have a special request, let’s talk about it. If it’s not scorching hot, we can even head to the beach, why not?
You might be worried about what to wear, but we’ll discuss everything in advance, and I’ll help you decide based on the time of year and the chosen location. Comfort first and foremost! You don’t need to bring anything special, just a great attitude. If you’re bringing a baby, consider carrying them in a sling or carrier so you don’t have to park the stroller for the photos.
What Is a City Session Like?
Let me break it down for you: we pick a date and a location, meet there, and chat about what we see, your life, or even the weather. Don’t worry, if you have young kids, you won’t need to talk to me much since you’ll be busy with them. We can also take a break to admire the views or grab a snack.
If Barcelona isn’t your home city and you’d like to visit a specific area, I might have a few anecdotes about the city’s history up my sleeve. From modernist icons to cutting-edge architecture, the city is full of places that make a fantastic backdrop for your photos.
We can take photos solo, as a couple, or as a family—there’s no limit on the number of people. You just need to choose if you want a shorter or longer session: half an hour or an hour. The rest is a piece of cake.

Give the gift of a city tour with photos
A photo shoot can be a fantastic gift for special occasions:
- Mother’s Day, Father’s Day… (or Grandma’s Day!)
- For a baptism, a birthday, or a wedding.
- To encourage someone at a difficult time in their life.
However, BEFORE you give someone a photo session as a gift, make sure you get it right: Is that person a photography lover? Has he/she had a photo session before? What style of images does he/she like?
A photo shoot is a very personal and customized experience, so before reaching out to me please make sure the person you want to gift it to is as excited about the idea as you are.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you always wanted to know and never dared to ask about a family photo shoot. Have lingering questions about your photo shoot? Don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
How Can You Ensure Your Photo Session in Barcelona is a Success?
There’s no short answer, but… by relaxing and going with the flow. We can’t control whether it will be sunny, cloudy, or even rainy on the day of your session, but we can capture amazing photos in (almost) any circumstance, so don’t worry!
Can I Bring My Furry Friend?
Absolutely! I love animals and understand that they are often part of the family, so I’d be delighted to have them join. Keep in mind that certain areas of the city may restrict pet access (like the beach during summer months), but we can discuss this and come up with a plan to navigate any restrictions.
Help, I Don’t Like Posing!
My style is natural and relaxed, and the last thing I want to do is make you do something you’re not comfortable with. That doesn’t mean I won’t help you achieve great results: I’ll suggest specific spots and encourage simple activities that anyone can do. But always, always, always… you’re in charge!
What Should I Wear for the City Photo Session?
Depending on the meeting point we agree on and the time of year, I can help you choose what to wear to ensure the results are as natural and timeless as possible. My priority is that you feel comfortable and that your clothing represents who you are. There’s no need to pretend to be someone you’re not. You can read my recommendations on how to dress for your family photo shoot.
Testimonials
First of all, the final photos are just fantastic, we couldn’t choose 15 and ended up getting a full pack 😀
Victoria is a great profession and a nice person! Our baby was very fussy and she was helping us a lot to calm him down, gave us plenty of time to do non stop feeding, etc
